Tremendous guitar.....wish I could keep it, but I need to sell a few guitars to raise cash. The Washburn J-9 Washington is a single rounded cutaway, thin hollow-body, guitar. There is a smaller block placed directly underneath the bridge area, and in combination with the thinner body, feedback is not a big problem, except at the highest heavy rock sound levels. For blues or jazz, this is a players dream, extremely versatile, resonates just the right amount to make its 17 inch body sing. Nice fast neck, and all kinds of tone. Has Grover tuners, rosewood fretboard, and adjustable tun-o-matic bridge. The Bigsby adds a lot too, and these medium to high output humbuckers will do just about anything you ask of them. It surprized me just how nice the J-9 really is. This one is a 1997 model, made at the Samick factory in Korea, has hardly any playing wear at all, and no scratches or dings to speak of. I noticed a very small discoloration next to the bridge pickup which I tried to photo.....but its so small its hard to see, much less capture with a camera. This turquoise metalic sparkle finish looks fantastic on stage and under lights......an extremely attractive finish in every respect. Neck has the fancy split-rectangular abalone inlays and the bound peghead has the Washington abalone inlay.....check out the pics. this guitar does not come with a case, but I can package it extra well to make sure you get it in the same great condition it is in now. In my opinion, the action is too low for the very thin gauge strings it has right now. If I were to keep it, I would string it with a thicker gauge set or tweak the truss rod adjustment just a hair, to bring the string height up a bit. But many players like it this low......so I will leave that to the next owner. Price is $695.00 plus shipping, or best offer.....I really do need to sell it. I did a search on sold J-9s and found that they sell anywhere in the $400.00 to $800.00 range, depending on condition. I would grade this one Excellent condition to Excellent-plus. I am willing to consider reasonable offers......but please, it needs to make sense or I will keep her for myself. Send me your email address and I will fire you pff some more pics. For whatever reason, I am having difficulty getting any more than these two uploaded to this listing.
